RIM
IN HUMBOLDT
On May 10, 2002, Rangers in Missions arrived in Humboldt, Tennessee. The scope of the project was to replace 500 square feet of shingles. Due to the rain that morning, we ask the Pastor to do a walk through the church and parsonage and list everything he needed fixing. After about 30 minutes we had a list of 30 items.
The items ranged from a leaky commode to
re-doing the lighting in the fellowship hall.
We began immediately to attack the list without any hesitation.
I really saw that these men were Ready for Anything.
The only time we stopped the work was to
share in most delicious meals prepared by the ladies of the church.
Country cooking including deserts, there are not words to describe how
good the food was.
By Saturday afternoon the list was
completely finished. The pastor and
his members continued to tell us how we were blessing them but you know we were
blessed even more.
To make all the necessary repairs, the
material cost was $804.67. I
received donations from our men of $260.00.
I have some promises outstanding and a couple of churches will let us
know this week if they can help but I have the faith the money will be raised.
At the present I have borrowed or charged the outstanding amounts.
Thanks so much for being involved in the
ministry. When you see the
men that worked on this project ask them about their blessings and how you can
get involved in the next outreach. The
following made this project a big success:
Bill Harris, Ralph Palmeton, Ron Parker, Jared Parker, Paul Gallina, Dave
Coker, Steve Mathias, Larry Wade, Paul Searles, and Mike King.
Yours truly,
Mike King
P.S.
I started this letter on Monday afternoon and was going to send it out on
Tuesday with a picture of the team. On
Monday night at the men’s prayer meeting and Bible study, I was present with
the money to cover all the remaining balance.
God is Good!
So, if you send money now it will go to the next project.
